Everything You Need To Know: Planning a Baby Shower
Baby showers are a way to celebrate a woman transitioning into motherhood, and celebrating the miracle of life!
Whether it’s the pre- party to the baby’s arrival, or the afterparty, I have some really great tricks.
Right off the top of my head, these are the things that will make a great baby shower:
Do not control the event.
Stick to 1 or 2 games, have snacks and beverages out for grabs from the beginning, do not have a seating arrangement. This is an opportunity to relax, and enjoy a calming ambiance.
There is nothing more hectic than having time slots for games, presents, food, drinks, and bathroom breaks! I understand that there is a bit of panic to wanting “the best” baby shower, but allowing a relaxed get together is all anyone ever wants.
Visiting with snacks is the best type of get together.
Our family generally does a casual pot luck while enjoying each other’s company with the basics: coffee for the adults, juice for the kids, play area, and coffee tables. It is a really simple list. Although we allll would love to have a Pinterest everything, this is more tangible!
Gift registry for ease.
I personally had a ton of fun creating my registry with my first born. I love going to other people’s baby showers with the gift already bought from their registry, and it being shipped right to their door as we speak.
This way, you are getting the exact model, make, colour, style, etc that they asked for!
But, you didn’t have to leave the house, or ask million questions! If you happen to have 2 kids under 2 like me, you will understand why I am so excited about this!
Photographer or family on camera duty!
My sister had a baby shower, and I offered to take some pictures for her. She had her shower in the basement of a church, and the lighting was insanely yellow! So, I am going to show you some pictures below how I tried to edit them!
(PS: Sorry to the future me if I ever look back on these pictures!)
Happy baby shower day! I hope these tips helped, and you were able to pick up some tips to use for yourself!
