5 Ways To Invest In Yourself That Will Never Fail

“If you want to invest in something with minimum risk and a guarenteed big return, invest in yourself.”


Doubting yourself and fear of falling will kill more dreams than failure ever will.

Before my year of self- discovery, truly taking care of myself, and believing in myself, I didn’t think I was worth investing in.

I thought poorly of myself. I thought I was a failure. I thought I was a burden. I thought that I didn’t have a worth.

I was 17.

I don’t know if you will ever be able understand how bad my mentality was.

That is when I started listening to podcast of bad ass women who encouraged me to put my best foot forward.
Who ensured me I was worth eating healthy food.
Who believed in me, before I ever believed in myself. (Check at the bottom of this blog post for my fav podcasts!)

I was now open to this whole world where my health mattered.
Exploring mattered.
My education mattered.
Growing my mind mattered.
Having a spirituality mattered.
And best of all: I got to choose that I mattered.


Health is an investment, NOT an expense. Health means something completely different than it did 3 years ago. In high school, “health” meant: skinny, counting calories, dieting, and extremely physical activity to keep myself “thin”.

Let me just say: please, please, please don’t you dare do this, because:

1. It doesn’t work.
2. It is the complete opposite of health.

Health to me now means:

  • Focusing on nutrition dense options

  • Trying to eat a balanced diet without control

  • Aiming for as much unprocessed foods and sugars as I can, without crazy control

  • Moderate physical activity

  • Listening to my freakin’ body!

Exploring + Discovering

“Wouldn’t it be nice to go to the beach today?”

“I wish I could go to this really cool dinosaur museum I’ve been wanting to go to for months…”

“I want to see the ocean.”

“Too bad I can’t go on the nature trail 2 blocks from my house because of XYZ (aka, B.S. excuse.)”

Ummmm… hello! 👋

This is my soul literally talking to me, telling me where we can go to explore the outdoors, and learn from this opportunity.

There is no better way of investing in yourself than listening to yourself, and being present in your own life.

Sometimes this can also look like traveling into a new country and exploring a new culture. There is no “minimum” amount of exploring and discovering, so that it qualifies as investing in yourself. You can be as minimal or extreme as you’d like! This is all based on your life, what you desire, and what fits your lifestyle.

Your experiences will follow you around for your entire life. Choose them wisely. Live to the max.


I am pretty sure we have all heard the quote: “The one thing nobody can take away from you is your education.” It is so true!

Different ways education looks like:

  • College or University

  • Mentorships

  • Masterminds (I run 3 week masterminds a couple times a year, guys!!)

  • Online courses

  • Google. Anything, and I really do mean anything, can be found on google. Take time out of your day to research anything you want with that free resource!

  • Exploring + traveling (like mentioned above!)

  • Paying attention in high school, and aiming for good grades. High school isn’t the end all, be all of life. But it has the ability to get you places if you choose a path in relations.

  • Journaling about your life, identifying life lessons, applying it to your life.

Personal Development

Reflecting on my attitude, beliefs, mindset, and perspective less than 2 years ago, my heart sinks into my stomach. The biggest part about personal development is: it truly changed my life. I am able to dream, succeed, set goals, love myself… the list can go on.

But the thing is, I am able to do those things, and have faith in myself!

Personal development reminds me of being very pregnant, sitting in a nice, warm bubble bath, a candle lit, and reading these books. Listening to the podcasts. Crying, usually, because I realized some huge life lesson.

And then directly after, I would journal like crazy. Maybe you can’t relate, and that’s okay, but the memories of when I first started this journey amazing me. My growth has been a painful process, but it has been an experience I willingly would do again.

Mindfulness, Spirituality, and Meditation

This really ties into the personal development. When I was really growing my mindset and perspective on life, I all of a sudden became mindful in who I was, how I was showing up in the world, and how I wanted to be remembered. I knew that I needed to lean on this higher power (God or the Universe, or a mix a both), and I have found comfort in the most difficult seasons of my life. I do think the more you invest in this area, the stronger you will become.

I have learned to let go, to give, and to LIVE.

I never thought I would be the one to say this, but I meditate every day with my children, and I journal daily. I don’t know where we got this idea that meditation and mindfulness had to be hidden from our children, but I disagree with that. I want my children to know exactly how to recharge, how to keep calm, and how to live in the moment!
